Give thanks to the Lord for he is good...Psalm 107:1
Finally, my laptop is back. That wasn't too bad, really---nine days to California and back and a holiday in between... pretty good service.
Thanksgiving Day dawned rather dreary...
later on for a bit...
...stuffed with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme, snipped fresh from under the snow... along with some lemon, onion, and celery.
Nana made the stuffing and cranberry relish (Helen's recipe) and peeled the potatoes; Susan mashed them. There was corn and applesauce too.
Of course Thanksgiving wouldn't be right without the sweet potatoes...
| Upside down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
...topped off with Susan's delectable pecan pie...
As always, there was more than we needed---lots to send home with the bachelors.
We are so blessed.
My Mumsie said that was the best turkey she ever had...and i can see why!! I'm sure the snowy herbs had something to do with it ;-) I'm gonna try my turkey upside down next year, that makes for very moist white meat, eh? Kingston had his first taste of gravy, it was pretty hilarious! He made a funny face like, "salt?? what is salt???" and then smiled and said, "aheeeeeee". Adorable!
ReplyDeleteMmmm! Herbs gathered from under the snow sounds like a fairy tale! Everything looks delicious, as usual. Miss those faces! xoxox my MumZ!
